Dialogue of Jamia Islamia with Contemporary Education Students
February 12, 2021: CODE PAKISTAN organized a dialogue between the students of Jamia Islamia Batkhela and contemporary education students of various colleges and universities of Peshawar. The dialogue held at the Centre for Learning Law and Business (CLLB) Peshawar was the first of a series of dialogues CODE PAKISTAN is organizing between the students of madrassahs and the students of the contemporary education. The topic of the dialogue was “The Meaning, Purpose, and Role of Education in Personal Development and Societal Evolution: Perspectives from Madaris and Mainstream Educational Institutions.”
The dialogue provided a unique opportunity for the students of both the systems of education to freely interact with each other and express their views on the topic of discussion. Three students each from the university and madrassah education systems expressed their views on the topic from the podium, which was followed by a Q&A session with the participants. The dialogue was highly interactive. The students of Jamia Islamia Batkhela as well as the students of the mainstream educational institutions of Peshawar openly interacted with each other through the platform provided by CODE PAKISTAN.
The administrator of Jamia Islamia, Maulana Imran Hilali, highly appreciated the initiative of CODE PAKISTAN and was of the view that such efforts play a key role in bridging the divide between the students of madrassahs and the students of the mainstream education system. He said that he had personally learnt a lot from the discussion and urged CODE PAKISTAN to continue with its efforts to quash misperceptions between the students of the madrassah and mainstream education systems by promoting dialogue between them. Founder CODE PAKISTAN Mr. Dilawar Khan underscored the importance of dialogue and interaction between the students of the two education systems in his concluding remarks on the occasion in which he also extended his gratitude to all the participating students as well as the administration of the Jamia Islamia Batkhela for traveling to Peshawar to participate in the dialogue.
