COVID-19 Awareness

CODE PAKISTAN is promoting peace, tolerance, and inclusivity in Pakistan.

CODE PAKISTAN is raising awareness about COVID-19 by engaging religious scholars as community leaders. We are mindful of the role played by the existing and upcoming religious scholars as community leaders. Therefore, we have engaged them in the noble cause of raising awareness about COVID-19 in the peripheral geographical areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
We have reached out to 15 madrassahs across three peripheral districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, i.e., Dir, Malakand, and Swat, where we raised awareness among the administrations, students, and faculties of the madrassahs about COVID-19. We showcased a video featuring messages from various doctors on COVID-19 prevention and awareness in Pashtu language specifically made keeping the target audience in mind. The video was showcased in each madrassah through a projector followed by a Q&A session handled by Dr. Ammar Maani for the benefit of the participants. The madrassahs in which the sessions were held included the following:

Jamia Rahmania, Dargai, Malakand District

Jamia Islamia, Batkhela, Malakand District

Jamia Tahseen Al Quran, Aladand, Malakand District

Jamia Dar Al Uloom Taleem Al Quran, Thana, Malakand District

Jamia Ashraf Al Uloom, Totakan, Malakand District

Jamia Al Muhsanat, Haibatgram, Thana, Malakand District (female)

Jamia Al Muhsanat, Alikhel, Thana, (female)

Jamia Al Muhsanat, Amjad Shaheed Colony, Thana, Malakand District (female)

Jamia Binoria, Batkhela, Malakand District

Jamia Arabia Hadiqat ul Uloom, Mingora, Swat District

Jamia Arabia Anwar Al Quran, Mingora, Swat District

Jamia Umar Bin Abdaul Aziz, Mingora, Swat District

Jamia Uloom Al Islamia Ibne Abbas, Qamber, Swat District

Jamia Darussalam, Ooch, Lower Dir District

Jamia Baitul Quran, Batkhela, Malakand District (female)

The administrations, faculties, and students of all the madrassahs we have reached out to have assured us that they will spread the message of precautionary measures against COVID-19 among their friends, families, and communities. This effort feeds into our peacebuilding work through the inclusion of the religious scholars in social work as community leaders.
