Session at Jamia Rahmania, Dargai

August 22, 2020: CODE PAKISTAN conducted a needs assessment session at Jamia Rahmania, Dargai, to assess the educational and vocational training needs of its students. The administration of Jamia Rahmania welcomed the initiative of CODE PAKISTAN and assured their support in case CODE PAKISTAN would want to provide any educational and vocational trainings to their students. The administrator of Jamia Rahmania, Maulana Atta-ur-Rahman, who warmly received and welcomed CODE PAKISTAN to his institution gave a comprehensive presentation about Jamia Rahmania and its modern approach toward religious education at the madrassah in particular and in the country in general.

Maulana Atta-ur-Rahman shared with the visiting team of CODE PAKISTAN that Jamia Rahmania had initiated several initiatives not only for the benefit and welfare of the students of the madrassah but also for the welfare of the communities. Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman shared that he had put several systems in place in Jamia Rahmania to make it a one of a kind madrassah administratively far more effective than many other similar institutions of religious learning. Maulana Atta-ur-Rahman very kindly shared various books and charts he had personally compiled for the students to better acquire religious education and to better understand the Holy Quran.

The visiting team of CODE PAKISTAN highly appreciated the efforts of Maulana Atta-ur-Rahman for the modernization drive he had initiated at his institution of religious learning and termed his students lucky for having an administrator who was not only well-versed in religious education but also aware of the needs of the modern times. They were of the view that to enable the students of madrassahs to compete with the students of mainstream educational institutions, leaders with a vision like that of Maulana Atta-ur-Rahman were needed.
Established in 1966, Jamia Rahmania is an old institution of learning. It was established by a renowned local religious leader Maulana Inayat-ur-Rahman who has also served a term as a Member of National Assembly (MNA). After his death, his son Maulana Atta-ur-Rahman is heading the madrassah. Maulana Atta-ur-Rahman is a dynamic religious leader who is also heading a welfare organization by the name Rahman Welfare Organization (RWO). RWO has been operational in the area since 2007 and has been working for the social welfare of the communities. Recently, it also conducted a COVID-19 awareness drive on its own

CODE PAKISTAN would like to thank Maulana Atta-ur-Rahman for his warm welcome to the visiting team of CODE PAKISTAN and his commitment to the cause of the welfare of the madrassah students in general and the students of Jamia Rahmania in particular.
