University Madrasah Discussion on Problems of Muslims

October 12, 2015: CODE PAKISTAN held a discussion on “Muslim Ummah and the Challenges of Modern Times” between the students of Abasyn University and various madrasahs of Islamabad. The students of Abasyn University and the madrasahs enthusiastically participated in the discussion expressing their thoughts about the problems faced by Muslims all around the world and suggesting solutions for those problems. The students identified promotion of tolerance as the foremost and urgent need of Muslim Ummah.

Prof. Ataullah Mahmood of the Faculty of Shariah and Law at the International Islamic University was the moderator of the discussion. He appreciated CODE PAKISTAN’s initiative and called for more such interactions between the two sets of students. President CODE PAKISTAN Dilawar Khan shared with the students on the occasion that they should consider the interaction under UMIP as the beginning of greater interaction and understanding between the students of the university and madrasahs, and they should keep interacting with each other and keep exchanging views.

The discussion was part of the University Madrasah Interaction Program (UMIP), which aims to bring the students of madrasahs and universities closer to each other by promoting positive and meaningful interaction between them.
