Founder CODE PAKISTAN participates in an international conference on migration in Ankara

March 3, 2018: Founder and President CODE PAKISTAN Mr. Dilawar Khan participated in an international conference organized by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in collaboration with Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Turkey in Ankara, Turkey, on March 1-3, 2018. The conference was part of the DGMM III Project, which is being implemented by ICMPD in collaboration with the Turkish Directorate General for Migration Management (DGMM) with the objective of strengthening the operational and strategic capacity of the Turkish Directorate General of Migration Management. Founder and President CODE PAKISTAN Mr. Dilawar Khan presented Pakistan’s legal perspective on issues related to readmission policies in light of European Union Readmission Agreement (EURA), which Pakistan signed in 2010. The event was attended by officials of the Ministry of Interior Republic of Turkey. Besides Pakistan, other countries that presented their viewpoints were Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, and Austria. Pakistan and Afghanistan were source countries for illegal migration to Europe in general and Turkey in particular, whereas the UK and Austria presented their cases from the perspective of being host countries.
